Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals from all across Texas come together to promote EMS as a healthcare profession by participating in regulatory processes and by educating our political leaders and legislators about the value of EMS.

We are the Emergency Medical Services Association  of Texas (EMSAT) and we believe that we can impact the future of the EMS industry to secure the well being of our communities and our members.

EMSAT Supports Les Powell for NAEMT Region IV Director Position (NAEMT Special Election) Les Powell, EMSAT Director, has been nominated for the NAEMT Region IV Director position.  You can learn more about Les by viewing his profile on EMSAT's website.  If you are a member of NAEMT, please cast your vote for Les Powell.  Texas needs representation at the national level.  Les has the experience, the knowledge, and the skill to represent Texas EMS professionals. EMSAT fully supports Les Powell in his race for the NAEMT Region IV Director position.  We believe that Les can bring the issues related to Texas and the rest of Region IV to the forefront and that he will create an important link to NAEMT that this region needs. New President On Board EMSAT Board members elected a new president after long-time president Paul Smith completed his term.  Ernie Rodriguez, shown here with his children, has been chosen to lead EMSAT into the future.  Ernie has over 25 years of EMS experience and presently serves on the leadership team of Austin-Travis County EMS.  Board members are looking forward to establishing a new vision and setting a new course for EMSAT.  Take a look at Ernie's welcome letter by  clicking on "A Letter from the President" on the left menu. short cut link Paul Smith, shown on right, has been an excellent leader and was instrumental in establishing EMSAT's foundation.  Without his efforts EMSAT would not exist today.  EMSAT sends many great thanks to Paul Smith for all his work, his leadership, his determination, and his committment.   New Meeting Times From now on, EMSAT will schedule its meetings to coincide with the GETAC meetings.  Start planning now to attend our next meeting in May and meet our new president.  Take some time to visit the board pages and send board members ideas about what you think EMSAT should be doing for you.   Board Work Session Scheduled The EMSAT Board of Directors will be meeting to develop a work-plan for EMSAT.  A new direction and action plan will be developed to move EMSAT into the future.  If you have any suggestions, please us this link to let us know what you think.
