Shackelford
EMS
Shackelford
County EMS is a small, rural 911 provider northeast of Abilene,
Texas.
With 6 full time personnel and approximately 14 part time
personnel staffing one 24-hour ambulance and one back-up unit,
we cover 984 square miles with a
population of approximately 3,300 people and average about 50 to 60
calls per month.
Our patient population consists of mostly medical and cardiac
calls requiring a great deal of advanced care in many cases.
Trauma calls are infrequent here but they are usually
gut-wrenching, which keeps things interesting.
